Best way to remove manual Shifter, and E-brake boot?

I have an 04 aveo and the boots on the shifter and Ebrake are shot. I planned on grabbing replacements from a local junk yard or buy an aftermarket one. Im not doing anything fancy, Its just an eyesore in the otherwise perfect interior. What is the best way to remove these? I looked around the forum but couldnt find a thread like this. Thanks in advance.

Finally got the Shifter done. Pics below (after pic coming as soon as my camera charges). I also ordered an E-brake boot from the dealer. Its the only place I could find one. It was only 12.86 so I am not too worried about it. It will be in a few days.

The ring of the Ebrake boot catches on the console rim near the four corners - on the long sides I seem to remember. I removed ours from the underside when the console was out, but should be able to unsnap it from the top. Since you're replacing it anyway, you could always cut the boot to reach the clips holding it in place if you can't pop it off easily with a trim or painters tool.

Yea, after a little investigation and hands on trying I figured it out. Much easier than I was anticipating.

It is pretty easy, but it can be a pain getting the whole piece out (I have done it 50+ times lol) I will get a pic of mine.

I unclipped the ring from the base of the console. Which was fairly easy actually. Then I pulled the boot over the shifter, turning it inside out. There was a zip tie holding the top end to the shifter which I cut off. Then the whole boot assembly came right off. I unstappled the boot from the ring. I bout the boot you see from auto zone. it was 9.99. I cut the elastic out of the bottom of the boot and slipped it over the ring and stapled it back onto the plastic ring. I also used some liquid stitch to reinforce the stitching on the base b/c it was a tight fit. Using the same process to remove the boot but in reverse, I reattached the boot with zip tie and clipped the ring back in. I also finally got a new boot for the ebrake today from my local chevy dealer, it was only 12.95. Will post a pic in just a minute.
