Maurer Motorsport (Switzerland) will be fielding a duo of Aveos in this year's Euro Touring Car Cup.

The cars, built to S1600 rules, will be run in the ...

...ADAC Procar series in the Division 2 class, as well as all four rounds of the FIA European Touring Car Cup with a pair of Chevrolet Aveos . The Roggwil based team has a strong prior record in Germany's leading production based touring car series, winning the 2005 and 2006 Series with Mattias Schläppi and Vincent Radermecker, the latter in their first association with Chevrolet, running a year old Lacetti S2000.

The team will run the cars for Russian drivers Alexander Frolov, the 2011 RTCC Champion, and Vadim Meshecheriakov.

Sounds like 1.6L - "built to Super 1600 regulations".

And it sounds like they're doing respectably in their class:

Wilson Borgnino was one of the top contenders in the penultimate round of the German ADAC Procar championship in Division 2 and, making good use of his Chevrolet Aveo, climbed to the podium twice at the Nürburgring, one of the most famous circuits in the world.

Wow, its very cool to have a race car builder on the site. How has the team been doing? What do you think of the Aveo as a race car?

we did well for the the cars firts season 4 in the ETCC and 6 in the ADAC procar, it was alittle heavy but with fruther development not a massive issue so it turned out to be a very good car
