I'm having the same problem. Converter won't seat and flywheel won't spin once starter cranks. Converter must not be seated all the way. Question: once you spun converter with transmission on its side, did it stay put enough for you to attach flywheel and connect to engine?

      Thank you!

The converter will always stay in place unless you jar the transmission enough to dislodge the torque converter from the full recessed point. Most installation issues are mechanic error of NOT dropping the torque converter in enough.
