i think almost any tranny would work if you fab up an adapter plate

First I'd try to find what transmissions mount the same way as ours. Then you'd also have to fab up a new tranny mount. As for cost of the plate, I'd say if the guy had experience with this specific swap, then it'd be around $200-$250. But since no one has done this before I would expect a lot more (maybe $400-$600) for R&D plus you might have to pull your engine and tranny (or maybe get a gasket, not sure in the Aveo's case). You'll also probably be looking at having to get new axels/driveshaft. It won't be a simple, straight forward swap with any transmission, but doing it this is, I would bet, would be a lot cheaper then getting a custom transmission made

F26 tranny, need to convert to FWD, it's a AWD tranny but they make conversions for it. it's a 6 speed and in Europe and will directly bolt to the aveo engine. Also I hear the new SAAB 6 speed will mount to our engine with a little work.

      a manual transmission? no
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.
