      Lightbulb Block Heater cord.

did the 2004 1.6 come out with a sensor built into the cord, that would only allow the heater to work if below a preset temp(-20c).mine looks like a regular cord but it has a round end were it fits onto the block heater the dealer here said that it is an aftermarket heater, but the dealer said they did not put it in. curios I have had this from new and nothing has been added. A new cord here is $187+ tax and does not include the heater that screws into the block. I have no continuity so no power.

I've never seen a temperature controlled block heater. Not saying they aren't out there, but most are dumb. Plug them in and they heat up. I would assume yours is the same.

They told me it is connected to the computer and if it goes wrong it will show a code. Never heard of that before. I tried to get a reading on my ohm meter and at the block it shows continuity, so I assume the cord is knacked
