      Exclamation catalytic converter wanted for 2005 chevy aveo!

      I keep getting the check engine light for my catalytic converter. Does anyone have a catalytic converter that i could buy? if not where is the cheapest place to get one? Thank you so much!

      I have the same code and a burn smell comeing off the car. I got estamated 700 bucks to fix it.

      Run a staight pipe with some type of O2 simulator or anti fouler trick- the cost is anywhere from $5.to 50. Try it , its worth a shot.

      What is the exact code? Its usually not the CAT that goes bad. Oxygen sensors are much more likely the culprit.

      No cat is only illegal if u get caught. Most smog checks just plug into the OBD II port -no CEL means u pass. I do believe 4you cylinder exhausts sound like crap with no cats so I recommend keeping either the pre cat or secondary. I dont think both r necessary. Our modern cars burn cleaner with no cats than the old school muscle cars with them. As long as ur state doesnt have a visual smog inspection u will be fine, and get a lil more hp n mpg
