Id like to put spacers on my tires. Bigger ones in back and smaller ones up front. Id like to know if that's as easy as I think it could be...sounds to me an analogy would be as simple as putting an extra washer on the bolt..is that the basic idea? Seems to be you would just put a plate space of desired thickness on the four bolts holding the wheel on? Any tips or advice or possible negative outcomes or issues would be appreciated. Thanks.
I have thought of adding spacers as well. More like a cheap aluminin cut out rather than getting in to changing the studs out for longer ones. If I recall correctly the rears are closer than the fronts. I was going to give a 10mm spacer a go only in the rear. I am just waiting for the weather to clear.
the studs are currently about 28mm, so you need at least 8 (i think) turns for the nut to seat. with a 1.5 thread pitch, you might be cutting it close with anything more than a 10 mm. 10mm might be too much depending on the wheel.
You will want hub centric and depending on the width wheel centric spaces. I used ones off a vw with a piece of teflon tape around my hub.. but I also only used a 5mm on the aveo to clear the front caliper. no longer need them.
Could use slip ons which I'm not a huge fan of. Or bolt ons like me. These are kind of like mine

How thick are these? Have you used them in the back or front? they appear to bolt on over existing studs correct? where do you order? thanks in advance...

Mine are 30mm. Need that big to pass the studs so the wheels won't hit. Studs are like 28mm. Ya direct bolt on. I use on front and back. You can order from specific places or eBay. Just don't go to cheap! They are actually pretty nice if you have a high offset wheel! I'm switching wheels to a 15x7 or x8 and +0 or +10 offset so I won't be on spacers anymore
14x5.5 with +40mm offset. Plus 30mm spacers = +10mm location
