Both those items are very common to go on the 1st generation Aveos. I had the same happen to my filter housing (when I had an '04). I unbolted mine from the car and actually drilled out the screws. I ended up using small diameter, long nuts and bolts to keep it together.

The air intake tube will eventually fail on any Asian car that uses that type of tube. I had the same thing happen on my old Toyota, but the malfunction wasn't quite so dramatic. After 10 or 15 years it is bound to split just from its age. Nothing lasts forever - especially plastic and rubber parts under the hood.

Buy a cold air intake from "ChromeIntakes" on eBay. About the same price as a replacement air hose too

Same thing happened to me yesterday. P0300 and P0700. Changed plugs and wires and I was off.
