"Modified Sonic" Take a look when the bottom of the car passes the camera...no exhaust / No engine.
I'd even guess it's just a lightweight plastic mock up of a sonic. Fun to watch.

I'd like to test drive one.

The automatic chute deployment probably happened while it was upside down since it wont show it. The sonic just ended up slamming the ground going about mach-OMG
