Trouble starting my 2009 Aveo 5 LS 1.6L

A few months ago I was having issues with my car. It kept over heating and blowing hoses. Then in an emergency it was driven with no coolant. While driving it slowly lost speed and power over a few miles until I took my foot off of the gas pedal where it finally shut off. After coasting it to a safe spot there was no crank. I just started working on it. I replaced the throttle body because the fuel actuator was toast. Did the timing with a new belt. Water pump seems fine. New thermostat. There was oil getting in the plugs and cylinders so changed the gasket with a whole new valve cover. There are no other codes. It cranks and almost sound like it wants to start. So I'm thinking maybe timing is off again or do these engines need coolant in the system to even start? Any ideas?

Sounds like perhaps a blown head gasket, with coolant coming into some of the cylinders and preventing it from starting up. What do the plugs look like when you remove them after cranking it a bit?

No compression in the 2 center Chambers. So looks like head gasket is blown between them where it seems there is the moisture.

Unfortunate. If you choose to do the HG replacement yourself, you should absolutely have the head checked at a machine shop. And there is also a possibility that the head is so badly warped that it can't be decked, so you might want to do a bit of advanced scouting for a replacement head, just in case.

Hopefully the repair will go well, and you won't turn into a popsicle getting it done!

Lol. Will probably wait until next month. I have a jeep I'm using as my daily now.
