2005 Aveo LT5- Door. Intermittent starting problem.

When the starting problem occurs, the only way to start the engine is to press on the accelerator while cranking the engine and the engine will start up, but the accelerator has to be pressed to keep the engine at 1000 rpm's for about 15 to 30 seconds or the engine will die out with a loss of rpm's, then the engine works fine and the rpm's go back to normal.

I took the car to a fuel injection speciality garage. They cleaned the throttle, but it didn't solve the problem.

There is no engine check light on. The car has 84,000 kilometers.

Check the throttle position sensor and/or fuel injectors. When was the last time the spark plugs and wires were replaced?

I bet there is a tear in intake hose messing up the air/fuel ratio. Take it off and inspect it carefully.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

Got the spark plug wires and spark plugs changed. Still has the starting problem. I checked the intake rubber hose, no tears, but going to replace that too.

Bad idle air control valve it sounds like to me. I'd take it out, clean it. If that doesn't do it, replace it.
