2007 Chezy Aveo Hatchback (base model)-No brake lights, tried the obvious.

Symptoms:
All three brake lights don't work.
Stuck in park unless I use the override.
Sockets on left and right brake lights look pretty discolored (more-so on the right)
Found a piece of solder loose in the right socket (looks like it is from the bulb)

Have tried:
Replaced brake light switch.
Replaced all blown fuses (one was labeled stop)

I would try just replacing the light sockets except that the middle brake light isn't working either. Does anyone have any other suggestions before I take it to a dealer to check out the wiring?

Also if anyone has any suggestions of why daytime running lights might suddenly stop working (been out for a few years).

*UPDATE* So I took it into the dealership and they replaced a fuse located under the steering column. Seems to work fine now. Luckily they replaced it for free but I wish I had known there were fuses under there.

Unfortunately this is only a temporary fix, the dealership fixed mine 2 times and sure enough, it happened again! this is what I did and it worked PS Keep your eye on that splicer as it will eventually start melting
