Do we have any gun fanatics in the house?

Ok, so I know pistols and hunting rifles but I know nothing about Assult Rifles. Anyways, I'm thinking of trading my old yamaha blaster to this guy for an Olympic Arms AR-15 A2 Assult Rifle. Like I said I dont know much about them, but he told me this one shoots .556 and .223 and it's fully modified. Ok, dumb question time...This is a style of M16 right? Any info you would have about this weapon would be useful. Thanks, here's a pic he sent me of the gun:

If your coming down to WA shortly, Olympic Arms is located down towards Oly.
Have heard you can pick up guns at the shop

Search the forums for Gun info.
The guys are fairly friendly with stupid questions.

How much would you want for your Blaster?
Check out the websites I listed to determine if it would be a good trade.

I have a few handguns, riffles and shotguns myself. Spent a few years in the army and used the AR-15. Good all around weapon shoots straight, light and reliable. Don’t know if I’d use it for hunting, but home protection or at the rang lots of fun.
I like the stopping power of a 7.62 round. It’ll go through the wall and drop what’s ever on the other side.

Me and my Tank, I said I liked big guns.

it shoots 5.56 and .223 bullets. They are the same size, just different ways of measuring. The AR-15 is the same thing as a military M16 except the military version has a 3rd burst and the AR is strictly semi-auto.
What sucks about it is that .223 ammo gets very expensive very quickly. If you plan on using it for home defense, look for another gun. Not only will the .223 go through the robber but also your walls and into your neighbor's home. It is a great target gun. Not as reliable as an AK-47 but much more accurate.

If you are just getting into guns, I would recommend a .22 or a 9mm. Bullets are much cheaper and more rounds=more fun.

Thanks aveodude, not just getting into guns just Assult Rifles. I've already got a chinese AK that was left to me in my Grandpa's will. It's a beast, but I would rather have a romanian AK. I've got plenty of guns for home defense, it would be more for target and sport shooting. I've also got 2 shotguns and a couple of hunting rifles,a Ruger 357 4" revolver and a Desert Eagle.50. I would love to find an M16 trigger assembly for it, but I'm not sure if that's even legal without a liscense.??? I'm not really worried about the price of ammo. My grandfather and I have tons of ammo stockpiled for the end of the world. We also load a lot of our own rounds.

Re: Do we have any gun fanatics in the house?

I dont think it is legal to convert it with a M16 trigger group but I dont know for sure. 3 round burst is a waste anyway. I am in the Air Force and shoot with them every so often. 3rd burst is terribly inaccurate (but it is fun as ****).

i used to have a few guns when i was a kid, my neighbor had an awesome collection, stuff i have hardly seen since.

i stick more to things that can be described as either, blunt, sharp, or both now. but not a huge collection, and can't grow now that i have kids.
