it looks pretty cool. before i found this forum i did kind of the same thing. i bought some blue leds and drilled small holes and installed them and just ran the wires off of my headlights. thinkin about redoin them off the turn signals so that i can have just the blue leds on and the runnin lights instead of the whole headlight. its not as bright with the leds but it still looks pretty cool.

hhhmmm the socket or the bulb? the socket you can get at a gm dealer or prolly your local auto parts store. same with the bulbs.

it would only make sense coonsidering if the light bunt out in whatever car it came from, it would be easier to change the bulb rather than the whole light socket. and in one of the pictures it says "...holder for a "194" bulbout of an 88 celebrity. something... many others could be used. the "194" bulb is the same as in the parking lights in the car already."

yeh its hard to read and understand lol.

Just buy a 194 bulb holder and get a bulb. I put a white LED from superbriteleds in mine.

      Yuck.

Another botched install. I popped out the lens like the original poster did. ITS VERY EASY TO DO. Now I have to take apart my once good headlight light, which basicaly means ruining it as Im finding out.

Just take caution if your going to try this !!!!

Even after I read this. One little slip and pop, out it came.

How did you get your headlight apart? Mine is so gooed together im literally shredding the grey plastic housing trying to separate the dam thing.

      Re: City Lights

put the headlight in the oven at 200 deg. after taking the bulbs and everything else off. put in for like 10 mins and the glue will be soft enough to pull it apart

      Re: City Lights

Omg...are you for real? that wont hurt the plastic or anything?

Thanks for the tip. a little afraid to try it, but does sound like it should work. what have I got to loose. Thanks again, for the suggestion.

Update.. That worked. 200 deg for about 10 minutes and the light was nice and hot.

and lens oozed apart. The sealer is like miracle goo.

I got the small city lite lens back in place... (used a tiny bit of the goo to keep it held in place and its back in like it never fell out).

I got the lens back together and it looks like its going to be ok. aside from the pry marks on the grey plastic, but its not tooo bad. I put it in the oven one more time to get it to all ozze back together.

I finished the hole for the 194 holder. I just have to get the bulbs (which I forgot back at my storage area dang!)

So one light is now modded for city lights woo hoo.
