Whatever the door sticker says. Doesn't matter what the tire size is, the pressure should be the same.

That's what I run mine at and find that the tires wear much more evenly that way.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

does that not hurt your gas mileage?

what about safety if you hit a bump in the road and your tire can burst....

i just know that from when i would pump up my bike tires to high and the first curb would make them burst...

      just a thought

i was running 44 -50 lbs for autoX...

i dont think a dot approved tire is going to burst from a couple lbs.. and the same tire may be suited for a higher load with a little more pressure.

Re: What psi should stock 15" rims be

In the winter I keep all 4 at the recommended 30 psi or slightly less.
In Summer I run the same as subachad and ontarian_frog.

I think harder wheels should help gas mileage because you coast longer and farther.
The idea for lower psi in the winter is slightly less wheel spin while starting off on snow and ice which in theory should also help with the gas mileage.

The stock tires are rated for up to 40+ psi and the Aveo is a light car, I think there is a lot of room to experiment and see what you like without having to worrying about safety.

ROTFL I haven't laughed that hard in a while. You're actually comparing a steel-belted car tire to a bike tube? wow... just wow...

Not all tires are steel belted

Go for even tire wear, if it's wearing in the middle, you have too much pressure, wearing on the edges, it doesn't have enough. Wearing some other way, see a tire wear chart.

The front need to be a little more since the car is so poorly balanced and most of the weight sits over the front. Also even at 36psi, after 20 minutes of lapping The hottest tire was just over 40.
