      Replacing 04 radio with aftermarket.

I was wanting to replace my girlfriends radio in her 04 so she can get a aux port. The last time I replace a head unit was on my gti about 6 years ago. After looking around it seems its more than just a simple plug and play. Before I go ahead and get a unit I wanted to ask for someone that has done it before to give me a list of other things I will need. It might seem silly but I dont want to mess it up (I had a friend last year replace his and it messed up steering controls and had to have the shop fix it.) Thanks.

All you need is the 'single din' (if you go single din unit) install plastic plate that mounts in the stock location, or run a 2 din the same size as the opening and the 'kit' is not needed. and get the harness pigtail adapter to mate to the new radio. That's all we needed to redo the radio in an 06 LT.
