Question Unsure whether or not to invest money into my 04 Aveo

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and actually a new Aveo owner. When I got the car, I guess the previous owner made someone angry, and there is key marks across the whole side panel on the left side and some more on the right. I'm wondering if it would be worth the money to even try to touch this up and this is not even the end of the body damage as there is some black marks on the back that either are from a small scrape or exposed plastic. What do you guys think? I can post pictures if you want!

Welcome aboard! go ahead and post the pictures and let's see what you have. if the key marks are just in the clear coat, they can be likely buffed out with some compound; if they are into the top coat, then the touch up paint has to be applied.

Edit: I always just realized I had an extra question but it is kind of unrelated to exterior. My Aveo is automatic and the stick gets stuck when shifting from drive to reverse or park; I have to jerk it with some force to get it into park.

That last picture, you can DEFINITELY tell that aveo has lived in the salt belt for most of its life; I'd take care of that quickly before it gets out of control. But if this aveo is the last car you are going to purchase for several years, I'd go ahead and invest the cash to both fix it up cosmetically, and to keep it mechanically sound.

Yeah man, I live over in Buffalo so our winters are definitely pretty harsh. How could I go about fixing that before it spreads?
