      where to buy engine cover

      Hi I'm looking to buy an engine cover for a 2006 Chevy aveo hatchback does any one know

      Ebay they go for 40 bucks. you could try craigslist around your area, or go to a salvage yard and try to pick one off. stealership if money isn't a problem for you =

      Just curious as to why? To me they just get in the way and its more to take apart when tearing into something. I know its only 4 bolts but when the timing cover has 22 alone its a pain. Just my opinion. But they do look decent if you keep them clean.

      I wipe mine down with Endust and it looks really nice.

      Chevoo-1/2 Chevy, 1/2 Daewoo. I mean like WTF?

      I feel like its not just called an engine cover because it covers the engine so you don't see it, I think it covers the engine to help protect it. to me, you only have a spark plug wire boot protecting the spark plug, and I personally dont trust a peice of rubber alone.and its only 4 (3/16) allen wrench screws, it takes maybe a minute more, unless you're in a pit crew during a race I dont think its too much of a hassle. lol

      Did you ever find an engine cover?

      @ jriggs Yup I did buy one on ebay for 15 bucks I found out that a daewoo lamps has the same type of cover so I got it and will be sanding it then prime it and add red gloss. Thanks for the tip

      thats a good price, i checked a friend that works in chevy sales department and he said a new cover could be around 65-100 bucks... yuck!
