      Question Throttle Body Repair

I own a 2007 Chevy Aveo ls. Engine light is on and we got the codes scanned and came back the throttle body sensor. Is there a way to just take the sensor off and clean it or replace the sensor all together instead of buying a whole new throttle body?
      Thanks!

Sadly, I don't think anyone has found a way to do that yet...

I have a used one for sale if you're at all interested though. Will let it go cheap. It came on my 2007 engine that I put in a 2005 (with cable throttle not drive by wire).

Really dumb question but what is the difference, "(with cable throttle not drive by wire)"

It means there is literally a cable that connects to your throttle to make your car move.

a cable throttle has something like a bike break cable that goes from the pedal to the throttle and manually moves the throttle.

a drive by wire has a sensor on the gas pedal, and uses an electronic actuator of some sort to open the throttle the same amount.

it is very likely your throttle body just needs a good cleaning, and not replaced.

Replaced the throttle body. Engine light went out and car runs and idles perfectly.

Another thing to check is the air filter box. when i swapped to a K&N filter, anytime the K&N was off a hair it threw a code.
