      throttle body compatibility

ok i tried searching for this but i dont know if i ever saw a thread. anyway here goes. does anyone know if there are any other larger factory gm throttle bodies that will work on the 1.6? maybe something off of a 2.2 ecotec? i been kinda curious i know you can put a cavalier throttle body on a s10 to get a little better performance so was just seein if anyone has tried this yet

This has been discussed in the past. None were found. You can try to find one, but I doubt anything will be compatible. What year Aveo you have?
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

I havent found any either but there are some things you can do. Get ahold of a dremel and sand down the inner lip and polish after you get done. you would have to remove the tb before hand to do this. I did it to mine and its a noticable difference and it sounds nicer.

You take the throttle body off the intake. You will notice how its cone shaped but rough going towards the butterfly. All you do is smooth it down and grind down the inner lip to whhere its almost sharp and buff it until smooth you can get different bits for your dremel to get realy smooth. If you REALLY want to go crazy drill a couple small wholes in the butterfly next to the edge but dont nick the tb itself. more air will get in faster from close to open position basicly any obstruction can be sanded down to get air in faster. If you need more info go on google and look up Porting throttlebody DIY on any vehical its the same idea just different throttle bodies. It works alot better on the old style aveos with the throttle cable but it will still work on the drive by wire aveos to. Hope this helps

the only one i can see being a direct fit for the ecotec 1.6 is the one off the ecotec 1.8.. but it might be the same one anyhow.

the muffler and the intake pipe are the most restrictive parts on the breathability of the engine.
