Malfunction indicator light for emmissions control system

      Hey guys

Well this morning when pulling out my car to go to work, the emmissions control system light went on. What could be the cause of that? It is due for a 45 000km service. Would the service be the solution to the problem?

      Hey guys

Findout it was my throttle position sensor that went off P1220 CODE. Bt the car should be fine.

Just got my car from Chevy nw. They have to replace the sensor, because cleanin and rewiring didnt help. I merely think its because of the filter i put on with the original piping. Wat you guys think, have any of use have similar problems to mine?

And cause of the sensor being faulty my car is revin well over 1000rpm sometimes over 2000rpm.

sorry, does you car have a throttle cable, or is it drive by wire like ours?
i thought i have seen the south african cars have a throttle cable.
Just trying to figure out if this is something that anyone else will come across.

U would have to illustrate on a pic. Or if im correct the throttle cable u talkin abt is like the acceleration cable? And the sensor is jst behind it, because i saw the mechanic checking the tension of the cable.
