      lightened flywheel

      hey i hav a question...is it advisable to put on a light weight flywheel on a non bored n ported engine?? m runnin plugs ,cables an exhaust and filter..

      and could someone give me links to where i can find one online and yea a reliable source plz..

      you can, a lightened flywheel only increase hp by taking away parasitic loss. It also makes the engine rev quicker.

      I dont know of any site selling aveo lightened flywheels, although you could take a stock flywheel to a machine shop and have them make one.

      yeah, you will have to have one made, but it will work

      thank you very much fellas!!...m glad iv found a forum fr the aveo...out here the aveo is jus considered a good looking commuter.. ok now my next question is that can anybody tell me what material is used to make the lightened flywheel..i have a lotta frenz who work with moulds and cnc machines so if possible plz lemme know...

      i have no idea, maybe you could get them to make other parts too, like some pulleys or cams too. Those will give you more HP also, maybe they will give you a good deal, and you could sell them (to me )

      too bad it only does imports, they probaly never even heard of an aveo Maybe if you ask them not to be cool and make a product for a GM

      they just need you to send them a stock flywheel and they will make one up... I should also mention the clutch/flywheel setup was $1500

      a decent light weight flywheel is usually aluminum. But MOST of the time you can take a lot of weight of the stock flywheel and still maintain 100% of its integrity.

      i believe my vw wheels was cut from @ 20lbs to 12.5 lbs. And it was a stock flywheel. You can buy a 8.5 lbs aluminum one though..
