      EGR Valve Block Off

      Greetings all - Happy Easter!!

      Has anyone actually blocked off the egr and what results have you achieved performance wise - any input is welcome.

      Removing an EGR system on a modern car actually will decrease your performance and fuel economy for a couple reasons:

      1) EGR isn't used at wide open throttle at all, thus it can't decrease performance.
      2) EGR actually allows ignition timing to be advanced at part throttle. This increases engine efficiency while cruising.

      It does more than that, but those are the reasons to keep the EGR.
