I am using a cobalt factory ecm with a modified OEM harness to be a stand alone and am using the avoe ecm as a piggy back so all of the gages inside the car can work. This is not a conventional setup but it should work just fine, I very close to being able to fire the car up. I need to finish the cooling system, I will keep everyone posted.

I got the rest of the parts in to complete the exhaust system, as you can see in the pic below the flanges are from Pypes and they are stainless steel. The gaskets are copper so not to have any leaks down the road and I will also be installing a flex section on the exhaust to allow it to move.

Below you can seen the flex section after it was burned on to the down pipe that I had previously put together.

The last pic is of the completed exhaust system, this came out really good if I do say myself. Next week I will be completing the cooling system. After the cooling system I will continue to the last part of the build, and that will be to tackle the splicing of the OEM wiring to the LSJ ecu. So we will soon have a running Avebolt, this is what I am going to call the car I will re badge the car with Avebolt.

I did not receive the Griffin radiator that I ordered this week it is on back order for two weeks so the cooling system will have to wait. Their is plenty to do so I went ahead and started to tackle some of the electrical systems that need to be addressed. What I took care of this week is the accelerator pedal modification, as you can see in the pic below the Aveo and Cobalt pedals are very different.

The first thing was to shorten the pedal to match the other two pedals, not the best looking mod but it will work just fine. I took an hacksaw and cut the end of the pedal and then used a hand file to shape the pedal to give it smoother appearance.

Next thing on hand was to come up with a mounting plate for the cobalt pedal, I created a template using the Aveo pedal.

These pics below are of the mounting plate and how it slowly took shape to form the adapter plate that will allow of the mounting of the Cobalt accelerator pedal on the Aveo.

The last pic is of the mounted pedal, it came out very good and the pedal is very solid without any flex. So we are getting closer and closer to having everything completed to be able to fire the engine up.

Well this mod is officially out of my skill level, to much custom fabrications. It is great work though, and I will continue to follow it. I want to see this car go.

This is for Bill with the question about the motor mounts, I made addaptors to work with the factory mounts. It was not very hard I will post later on a how too for the mounts.

Its been a little while since I've visited these forums, but WOW very nice project! I'm sure you will get tired of 270hp pretty quick and start dropping pulley sizes Or maybe up the supercharger to a larger one .... perhaps M90 ??

You certainly have a wide variety of skills to be pulling this off by yourself... what is your profession? I'm guessing machinist / fabricator ?
