It would be around 11k for a finished car depending on drivetrain choice etc.

get a wrecked Saturn Sky or Pontiac Solstice. Those will be more than good enough for parts as you'd have to go for a naturally RWD car for parts at some point anyhow.

If i were to make an AWD Aveo, I'd only use parts from the GM Parts bin.... as in the AWD system from the 2011 Buick Regal GS and a 2.0L engine from a Cobalt (LSJ or LNF. doesn't matter which)

GM Brands include: Pontiac (Defunct -2010), Saturn (Defunct -2009), Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Hummer, Geo (Defunct -1998. ), Oldsmobile (Defunct -2004), GMC, Acadian (Defunct, Canadian market only), Holden, Vauxhall, Opel, Daewoo, etc. All made by the same company. GM is a corporate giant and one of the biggest auto makers in the world. GM is famous for interchangeable parts. GM does not own Suzuki, but has had partnerships with Suzuki before.

I was referring to the AWD/RWD Aveo idea. For a RWD Aveo, go with a Pontiac Solstice/Saturn Sky for parts, for a AWD Aveo, use engines from a Cobalt and the AWD system from the soon-to-be-released Buick Regal GS as it uses a Cobalt LNF turbo ecotec engine but pairs it with AWD unlike the FWD Cobalt.
