2009 CAI install

Hello,
This is my first post. I would just like to thank all the experts on here (and facebook, I recently joined the group on there too) for helping me get my Aveo running, it had been sitting since Thanksgiving (mostly due to money for parts.) This forum helped me replace my rear axle bushings with the VW ones. I have been reading from afar and joined the forum now. I have an 09 Aveo hatch. I am hoping for help with a few questions.
I have a question about Rabbit's (or anyone else who installed this set-up) custom CAI, I ordered the same Accord CAI and understand the cutting but in another thread I saw you say something about making your own brackets, will the brackets that come with it not work?
I also ordered a bypass and I am a little unclear on where to connect it. Will it work if it is connected to the MAF and the 2nd pipe or do I need to make another cut in the 2 bend pipe and place it down farther?
