Wiper Speed Control lever Replacement

New here and glad i found it! Just picked up an 07 hatchback for ny daughter so she can get back and forth to school. She is out of state so i won't be doing any work on it. The lever that turns the wipers on and off is broken. seems like and easy fix? I assume the steering wheel doesn't have to be removed? She will have to take it get fixed - just want to make sure she gets a square deal!

It is a very minor fix. The two halves of the steering column cover come apart, and then the lever assembly can be replaced.
