Is that public insurance run by the government though? Also if I was a chick, I'd be paying about $80 bucks a month.

Current Monthly Cost of the Aveo:
      Monthly Payment: $191
      Insurance: $60 (Progressive- Married, 25, male, 0 accidents/tickets. The wife's Fit is $50/month)
      Average MPG: 32
      Average Miles per Month: 1275
Average gallons of gas per month: 39.8
Average cost for gas (FL): $3.67/gal
      Average monthly gas cost: $146

Therefore, my current monthly running cost is $397. Not too shabby. But it doesn't take into account original down payment, maintenance, wear and tear items, tolls, speeding tickets/parking fines, etc. I think I figured it out awhile back, and the overall cost per mile was around $0.47 or so.

One of the provinces here has government run insurance instead of privatized, you can get insurance for like $80 from them unlike the $170 I pay for privatized.

I can not wait until I am 25, I see it cuts your rate in half at that age

Though, married is a different story

My rates hardly changed at all when I turned 25 (I'll turn 27 this spring)
On the bright side, I just called my insurance company and reduced my premium from $101/mo to $42/mo
I was paying more because I was fully covered on both sides
Now I'm only covered if the accident is NOT my fault, and still covered for fire/theft etc. I could have had it at $28/mo, but I would not be covered for theft. SCREW that (have had a car stolen before with no theft coverage!!).

      woohoo
