2009 Aveo Wind Noise - how to fix

So does anyone have this annoying howling from the wind blowing across the car? When I'm driving in a cross wind that's blowing from my right side across to the left side of the car, my drivers door creates this howling that is almost intolerable. Had it back to the dealer and they adjusted the door but it didn't help at all. When the wind is from the opposite direction, the passenger door will do it too but not bad like on the drivers door. Not quite sure what to do about it, I suppose back to the dealer again.

Well after reading some of the info I found here about this problem, (just to confirm that I was not the only one experiencing this) I sent an email to GM yesterday and they called me today. Too bad I didn't hear the phone ring and the answering machine got it. They will be calling again so we will see what transpires.

Every time I have had a wind noise, I end up checking my windows and they would be slightly down. I have to check them occasionally and make sure they are really up. 2006 Aveo, manual windows.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

This is something that's been plaguing our aveo's for a long time apparently. My 08 does the same thing. Unfortunately i'm off warranty. I need to check the seal on my windshield to be 100% but I'm pretty sure it's coming around the doors. Or both. . .

I will think of a better signature later.

Got off the phone with GM and the dealer about an hour ago, I have take it to the dealer again. We'll see where it goes from there, GM wants a report back from me and the dealer from the next visit. I'll keep you posted.

thanks, That would be awesome if it went under recall for something so annoying.

Got the wind noise figured out tonight, I was driving home from work and the noise was driving me absolutely bonkers. Put a piece of duct tape over the gap/seam where the drivers door and the windshield pillar come together. Went for a drive and the noise is gone. Came home and took a piece of aquarium tubing and inserted it in the door seal channel, went out for a drive and the noise is gone. So the guys that mentioned earlier here that they just bend the top of the door (window frame area) in were correct. I don't think I will, I think I'll just find a round piece of foam rubber type seal the right size and glue it in. It seems that the door seal just needs to press harded against the door/windshield pillar. I was supposed to go to the dealer next Wed but I think now maybe I won't. Although it may be worth a trip back there and another call to GM to see if they will redesign the door seals.
