Aveo 2006 wont engage Park

Hi,
My Aveo 2006, automatic transimission, won't engage Park. I recently had a problem with my Neutral Safety Switch, but it seems like it resolved itself. Thing is, today, my car wouldn't engage the Park gear. I could physically get the shifter into Park, but my car would still act like it was in Reverse, as if the transmission did not engage Park. I heard it might also be my transmission shifter linkage. If anyone has an idea of what the problem might be, I'm willing to listen!
