      Vents surging with the accelerator

We have a 2006 Aveo with ~136,000 on it. We are up on maintenance and follow through with making sure it all gets done. Only problem that we have noticed that is on going (after ditching the garbage head unit and replacing it with an aftermarket) is the light module - sometimes the lights work, sometimes they don't. Currently have a taillight out (along with instrument cluster), one of the headlights comes and goes and the interior dome light has a mind of its own (will be in off position, but still on. will be on door position, but wont come on at all). Evidently there is a recall for this but Chevy has no idea if there will be a fix for it. Some recall about the headlight switch getting hot and catching on fire?

Other issue that we have that started recently is the vents for HVAC. No matter what setting you have the blower switch on (1-2-3-4) when you press on the accelerator the intensity(?) of the vents will go higher. As long as you are on the accelerator the vents are blowing harder. Soon as you release the accelerator the vents will blow less. Any ideas? Trying to buy a house, so no money to just throw at it. Plus its too damn cold to be working on it more than I have to.

Sounds to me like you need a new blower motor resistor.

the lights and the blower all sound like distribution or ground issues. I would agree to check the resistor but that mostly adjusts speed with the switch. Either way, I suspect wiring.

now that i think about it, the fan could also be the voltage regulator on the alternator too.
