Reserve light / Empty icon and reverse light not working

Hi guys,

I am struggling to figure this bugger out and would appreciate some help.
My petrol gauge works 100% but the icon when your car reaches reserve doesn't seem to light up.

I've removed the whole cluster, tested the small bulb by exchanging with the brights/ high beam icon and the bulb is not the problem. It is one of those that just turns in. Anyway this has not helped in any way. What else can I look at? Also experiencing problems with the reverse light. Bulb is fine, no blown fuse but doesn't turn on when putting car in reverse.

You need to be aware that this is basically a North American forum, and that very few members here would be familiar with your 1.5L vehicle. And most of us also don't have access to the 1.5 wiring diagrams, so we couldn't check for wiring specifications, even if we wanted to. So be advised that any wiring-related information you receive is likely to be wrong and misleading, if it comes from a 1.6L owner who doesn't realize which vehicle you own.

I understand and see your point but general information would still be the same. Example someone can perhaps say check the plug or switch. Altough wiring will be different, I am sure someone had this or similiar problem before and can point me in the right direction

How are you verifying that the car is indeed below the reserve fuel threshold? Or do you have another way of telling if it should be on? In my car, I can go for a while with the fuel gauge sitting below the last line until I eventually get a fuel reserve light.

I hear what you are saying, the needle was below the last / red line, I assumed it is suppose to come on as any other car I drove the moment the needle hits the last line. But I will check and have a spare bottle in the car in case I do end up without fuel, just not keen on testing it by pushing it that far and damage the fuel pump.

A sensible approach. I just know that the kilometres I can travel after that needle is showing empty, and the actual reserve light coming on, is not a small number. And I find I still have 5-7 litres of fuel left after the light comes on (but have only had the light come on twice so not a reliable indicator).
