LAs Vegas Anyone?

how do you like it out there? my fiance and i are talking about moving, and vegas area seems to be staying high on the list of places to go.

Vegas is a great place to live as long as you don't give in to the "strip life" too much. If you have a weakness for drugs, sex, alcohol, gambling etc... this might not be the place for you.

Housing is quite plentiful right now and while cheaper than SOCAL or the SF Bay area of CA is not super cheap but not all that expensive either. It's pretty easy to get a well paying job here as well. We are not rich, but combined we are just under 6 figures. I'm 29, my wife is 25.

There is ALWAYS something to do here; shows, club events, conventions, etc. I also go to SOCAL for Raves and track days or even Magic Mountain. LA is only a 4 hour drive.

Where do you live now? What made you think about Vegas? I first moved here for 6 months just after my 21st birthday. It was a little different then than now, but equally fun. Another thing with Vegas is it gets better the longer you are here. You might not like it the first 3-6 months, especially with 120 degree summer days and over 100 at NIGHT.

yeah not a huge fan of the heat- but my hunny got a job offer over there that would be ideal for him. we are in san jose ca right now, and rent prices are rediculous. for a decent 2bd apartment is on avreage 1250 to 1600 per month. we can get a 3bd house out there for that price.
we need to come visit first. any suggestions for decently priced hotels?

will be in Vegas for SEMA 2008 at the end of October. Bringing the fiance and promising her time in the weekend for things OTHER than cars... What would you suggest? Never been before

For hotels, check travelocity. MGM, luxor, NY NY, Wynn, Mirage, Treasure Island are all nice.

Things to do? What do you like? I prefer house music which has me at Body English at the Hard Rock on Wed, Blush at Wynn on Thursday, Revolution pretty much any night but Friday or Saturday, Tabu has a nice atmosphere.
