      light weight rims?

since the car is light (but still kinda chunky for a car that small), and it has a tiny little 1.6L engine, I think that the aveo would probably benefit by using light weight rims. no?

anyone have a clue where one might look for light weight rims that would be a direct fit for the aveo?

      9.3 lbs is light for a 14!

The Civic VX had 9-ish lb wheels (but 13 inches).

would it be smarter to go with a 14" rim , or is the aveo capable of performing well with 15" without any adverse effects either short or long term, given that they would be light weight?

also ... should i be concerned with them being flimsy/not too solid, given that they are relatively cheap price also?

      Re: light weight rims?

Lightweight rims generally can be damaged and bent easier because they aren't as beefy. I wouldn't be concerned with the price of them if a quick google search didn't show up any complaints with the wheels.

Generally, a smaller wheel and tire is lighter than a larger wheel and tire of the same outer diameter. It all depends on what wheel & tire you get though.

Well I'm talking about the 14" - 15" 185 to 205 type sizes. I'm not sure how much a stock steel wheel weighs. I figure light weight wheels with good rubber should make a reasonable improvement for the Aveo...

If they are 15s, 16s or 17s, they fit. Most ppl have 17s with 42mm offset and it fits.
