      Brakes not functioning well..Urgently need advise...

      Hi guys.I m new to this forum...I need to know regarding the ABS system n its light sensor on the dashboard...If the ABS if malfunction or spoil will the light sensor is on or off ? Reason is that now my Aveo5 hatchback'08 is having problem with its brake.It started only after i had a slight emrgency brake..I need to press further down then my car car will slow and stop or it will sudden stop..Went to agent it said that due to the ABS system at which i need to change it n it will costs me near to 3k. I went to have asecond opinion n visit outside repair shop n thr mechanic said that it is the pump below the brake fluid that having problem.Because when i pull up my handbrake n press the foot brake i can feel the harden pressure...Need urgent helpp...Thanks

      Are you trying to say your brake pedal is stiff? Could be a bad brake booster.
      If ABS is malfunctioning the ABS light will remain on. Should not affect normal braking though.

      Hi Bro...My brake pedal is not stifff.....it just that sometimes the pedal went in halfway or full then it started to full brake...

      Sounds like the brake master cylinder needs to be replaced (at least thats what it sounds like the 2nd mechanic said). That really shouldn't be a huge job and nowhere near $3k to do. What did the 2nd mechanic want to do the job?

      Thanks for the reply...
      He said that he will change the pump and flush the brake fluid to check further....
      Hopefully it not going to cost me more....
      Will b going to the workshop this afternoon Singapore time..n update to u guys the outcome...
      Till now the ABS light is not lighted....
