      power locks

I just did the two two front doors so far as they are the ones I use most of the time, and I am getting enough heat for working on the car every weekend. I used the universal actuators and just secured them to the door in the lower right hand corner. I didn't have to use the strap. I just wired it up to the relay that came with the kit and now it works with the remote and when the car reaches 2.5 x idle in RPM it locks, and when the key is turned off it unlocks. I wnat to do the hatch next, but it isn't that important.

What kind of relays did you use?, I may need three for the clutch and park lights, also were they pricey?.
If I don't need my transponder bypass module (no need for extra key in this module) it will be up for sale.

      Re: Remote Start

I used SPDT relays, very common. Make sure to get the pre-wired plug for them, it makes the connections very simple. They can be had on ebay for about 5 bucks a piece with the plug. Check out http://www.the12volt.com for diagrams and stuff.

      Re: Remote Start

Just for sharing after installing this Page Guard 8000 alarm system.

      Features:

      1) 200m Arm or disarm with chirp or without chirp (silent mode)
      2) Auto Self arm after all 4 door close OR self arm after all 5 door closed OR no self arm
      3) Shock Sensor on/off option
      4) Sound Sensor on/off option
      5) Alert owner when sound/shock tampered
      6) Remote engine start/kill
      7) Valet mode - disable self arm
Remote boot door release with auto disarm on/off option and auto arm on/off option
      9) Turbo timer on/off with option of 1 min/3 min
      10) 2 way feedback system, confirm button to determine which mode it is in currently with color LCD remote control
      11) Programmable using own remote choosing various function on/off

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p5DbduXkojU

It costed me abt $350 US for the kit (3 years ago, more ex due to color LCD) including a piston gun for the rear 5th hatch door for the boot release function, shock sensor and sound sensor.

I press a button, the rear 5th door will be release just like if I were to pull the boot releasr lever under the driver seat. Useful as I do not need to dis-arm, open door, pull release lever, then walk to rear to open 5th hatch door. I just need to go direct to the rear, press a button. It auto disarm and the pston gun pull the wire inside to release the door. But the rear key hole is useless after this mod. As the key do not pull the wire now, its the piston gun.

Installation is done by my friend. Take abt 2 hour.

Any aftermarket actuators will work. Check ebay. No need for OEM, actuators are like 5 bucks a piece, and you need a door lock relay module for like 10 bucks, or you can buy a kit on ebay with 2 or 4 actuators and a DLRM for like 20 bucks, oir better yet get an alarm with the kit. Like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/CAR-ALARM-UNIVERSAL ... 286.c0.m14
I am not recommending this one, just an example.
