      Radio replacement

Hi I just signed in and have a question about the radios in the Aveo. I have a 09 with just the stock AM/FM radio, I want to get a Aveo radio with AM/FM - CD - XM equiped. My question is, can I just replace the two units or is there something else I have get?

take out the old and put in the new....

BUT i will recommend that you go with an aftermarket headunit because the outputs are higher and it will be better quality sounding... thats just my .02....

the XM is the part you will need to look into. you might need to add a second antenna or something.

The reviews are high, but very few on this site (I almost always check the ratings through them) http://www.resellerratings.com/store/AutoDVDGPS_Qualir

Check it out... It's a lot of money to be playing with, i'd surf the web for other reviews too...

But remember you will need all the mountings and adaptors. They will most likely cost you between $75 to $50 depending on your location.
This is a list of things you will need:
This is the Dash mounting kit that fit like a glove: Metra 99-3306 Double or signal DIM Chevrolet Aveo 2007, Pontiac G3 2007
Wiring harness adapter: American International GWH-406 2006-08, you will just need to run a separate line to your acc. connection on the factory harness.
      Antenna adaptor: Pro-link 40-DR10 CR-6

      Re: Radio replacement

that head unit is supposed to be drop in like factory, you shouldn't need the extra stuff.

i was looking at the "same" head unit from a different source. I never bought it though.
If it truly installs like factory and looks factory i would consider it, but never wanted to spend that much money.

I already have upgraded my svm to the 09 cd radio.

      Re: Radio replacement

that unit looks awesome. really changes the entire look. I am happy with the stock radio that came in the one I have, but that one is pretty sweet. May need to look into something like that.....
