interior door handle broke in half

The passenger side door handle on my 2011 aveo sedan snapped in half today when my wife started to open the door. All my warranties are still good and I was wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem. If so, was it covered? Than you.

Well, the chevrolet dealership said that the warranty covers this so I can bring it in to get replaced tomorrow for free. My main concern here was whether or not the door handles breaking is a common problem for the aveo.

I know this thread is dated, but my 2011 aveo's driver handle snapped in two. I went in for an oil change and they replaced it free, since it was still under warranty.

Now the passenger handle snapped in half. No longer under warranty. $210 at the dealership to fix.

I posted my own thread about this and now and trying to find the handle and will try to replace it myself!!
