      Cluster lights help needed

OK the other day the lights i have in the cluster went off and so did the lights behind the a/c controls and the shifter lights. The clock, radio and hazards still work but i cant see what speed im driving at night. I checked all the fuses and they all look fine, none seem burnt out. Any reason why this is happening?

this might seem like a dumb question, but are your exterior lights working? (this sounds like either your headlight switch may have failed internally, or your Interior dimmer switch may have failed. I could make a proper diagnosis if i knew how our Interior Illumination is supposed to operate.)

All my exterior lights work because when i turn the switch to turn my inside lights on the turn signals still come on, my brake lights still work and so do my headlights.

okay, that Eliminates the Headlight/Turn Signal Switch. my guess is either the Dimmer Rheostat decided to fry, or you've got a Short or Open somewhere in the Harness.

I know my clock has been resetting every time i turn the car on. And before all the lights cut off the light on the shifter started going out first but if i tapped it the light would come on. My dome light also went off like 3 weeks ago just havent replaced the dome light.

      Hello Reddemonx92,

Thank you for your post. Sorry to hear you're having this issue. If you would like to PM your VIN, I could research to see if there are any recalls or special coverages that may be related to the issue you're having.

Ive seen a few similar issues.
heres a link to another thread on the topic:

      http://www.aveoforum.com/forum/f108/...18/index3.html

And the resolve i was given at a shop that fixed my similar problem:

      the fusebox under the hood.
on the bottom right, theres the white thing,
referred to by the shop as the junction block.
      slightly burnt.
      cause of my problem.
they bypassed it underneath, slipped it back in and all is well.
