Question Passenger side mirror ??? For anyone

Hello all, my daughter, step daughtaaaa really, ( like butt scratcha ) sorry being a dork. Family guy reference, just got a 2009 aveo and she done hit a pole and knocked the passenger side mirror out. Is there any way to replace just the mirror itself and not the whole assembly?

replacing the assembly would be no big deal but her car is turquoise and she wants to keep it the same color as the car, not just a black housing on her turquoise car. If I bought a black housing, mirror assembly is there anyway to swap the mirrors from the housing?

hope this makes sense and I'll probably be back her a lot seeing I'll be the gear head working on this thing when she has problems. Her dad's a square and don't know jack about this stuff. First time workin on a aveo so this forum seems like it'll be pretty handy.

Thanks and sorry if I came across wrong in anyway.

Thanks for replying. Yes that is the part I need, my main question is how to replace just a mirror in the housing? Manual mirrors by the way.

My daughter just came by with a auto zone replacement mirror, not worth a damn with 2 sided tape, not gonna work. I took the whole assembly off the door and just can't see in my head head how to replace just the mirror. There's gotta be something I'm missing. I'm not a dummy when it comes to working on cars but I don't have a service manual for this car and am just kinda "winging" it. Again, thanks again for the reply and I'll take the whole thing apart tomorrow to figure it out if nobody has an idea

      rock!

Did you ever figure it out? I hit a trash can and the glass fell out. Mine is a heated motor mirror.
I just want to replace the mirror itself.

      Thanks!

I had to replace the whole assembly for me. About 60 bucks at rock auto.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

My suggestion would be to hit up a junkyard. Adjust the mirror so it's outward as far as possible and pull the mirror glass away from the housing by slipping your fingers in behind the glass. It may pop out. If if does, you should be able to pop the glass into your existing housing by pressing it into place until it clicks. This may be worth a shot as a mirror glass from a junkyard would be cheaper. Also, if you can't replace the mirror glass only, you may be able to find an entire housing in the color you want from the yard. This would save you the cost of painting the new housing to match as well.

Popping the glass out this way is how my wife's Volkswagen Rabbit is done. I don't know about an Aveo.

Replacing right wing mirror, please help. Right wing mirror casing broke. It is electrical, not mechanical and with heating. I want to get it from the junkyard or classifieds. My question is can I also get one which is not electrical and just put electrical parts from my old one into plain mechanical casing?
