Fog Lamps

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and would like to buy a fog lamp kit for my 06 Aveo sedan. Does anyone know where I could buy them at? Or do I have to go to my dealer?

welcome and ebay has alot stuff. i added after market fogs. i want the factory tho.

If you go to the dealer they most likely will tell you that if your Aveo didn't come with fog lights, there is no fog light kit "per se". You could buy the bulbs themselves (and yes, eBay is way cheaper than the dealer) and get one of the aftermaket fog wiring harnesses (or just make one yourself with a switch of your choice (factory one is around $55 if I remember correctly so I went with an aftermarket for under $10 with a light up LED on it). Wiring shouldn't be that hard if you're familiar with basic electrical stuff and how to wire in a relay...

you could have them on a separate switch or (recommended) have them wired in through a relay to your parking lights or low beams as a trigger to the relay (still with a switch) so when you turn your external lights off the fogs come off too.

The wiring is pretty easy. And if you are planning on staying stock (no body kit) than the OEM fogs will look the best on your car IMO.

I plan on staying stock, so I would want the OEM fogs. I just don't know where to buy them at. Does anyone know where I could buy one instead of Ebay?

A salvage yard. car-part.com searches local yards for ya. Ebay is probably the cheapest place though.

And with eBay you get new ones, not used ones. (or so I would hope)...

You can probably try gmpartsdirect.com too. i believe thats still a website. I did the same thing you are trying to do. I installed OEM fogs to a seperate switch.
