      What is my engine size?

I have a 2009 Aveo 5 LT. Not sure what my engine size is. How do I find out?

As far as I know, all North American Aveos/Waves/G3s came with a 1.6 liter engine. 2009 was the first year of the Ecotec. 2008 and previous had the Daewoo sourced E-Tech II.

Thanks for the reply. I believe it to be a 1.6. It does say Ecotec on top of the engine. I find it to be odd that I'm unable to find 1.6L labeled anywhere on the engine or elsewhere on the car. Am I not looking in the right place?

You should have a 1.6L Ecotech. I don't believe it is stamped anywhere on the engine though, maybe on a label under the hood. In the service manuals it would be labeled 1.6L(LXV). From what I gather, there were several engines used on the 09 Aveo's depending on what region they were made for.

The US only got the 1.6L LXV, if I'm not mistaken

I'll check my 09 tomorrow morning and figure out if it's labeled anywhere

It says on the car "LT" however I thought I saw it referred to as an "LXT" in a service manual somewhere.

posting a picture of the engine would help us narrow it down for sure

No, I tried uploading direct from my computer. The insert image function will allow me to select the file from my desktop however once selected, it doesn't give me a way to upload at that point.
