Say what? No oil changes needed?

i read the manual in my 06 and it said only to check fluid 2 times a year and to add if needed. it ddint say nothing about changing it at 15,000 or 30,000. not even farther down the mileage range. my dads 02 f-150 has never had anything other than air filter and oil changed and the cruise control solenoid replaced.

When I was researching the spec listed in the manual (I have an 04) I found that it was primarily used in BMW and Audi transmissions and from searching their forums, learned that if you get the fluid straight from BMW it can run you $14/qt. Things may be different with your '06, but I believe this is what your mechanic was talking about.
