      Noise When Changing Gear

Hi all new to forum so sorry if posting on wrong board

In the UK and just bought an aveo 1.2s 3 door. had a vauxhall corsa and decided to get a newer car.

Just wondering if im being paranoid or not or im just used to my old corsa but when im changing gear (its a 5 spd manual gearbox) every time i move the gear stick into the position ie 1 thru 5 its smooth and the engine responds ok but theres a metallic noise from the gearstick area inside the cab

Sorry for being vague. Best way i can describe it.

      Any advice would be appreciated

      Tom

pull up on the boot (not the engine boot, the boot around the shifter. Crazy english guys) abd look in there to see if you can see what is making the noise.. But most, if not all the shift linkage connections are plastic. Is the noise while running and moving? or while sitting still? IF it while sitting still i can assure you it is because the shifter is actual linkage, not a cable shifter which is much quieter.

      Hi rabbit

Thanks for getting back to me. Went into my local Chevrolet dealer in glasgow, told him about this and he just said that it was a trait that Aveos have. The gear change being notchy etc

Ah well suppose ill get used to it after a while
