Has anyone tried adding an ac system?

My aveo5 doesn't have an ac and I was wondering how hard it would be to get the components and install it on my car myself. Has anyone done it before?

I added it to mine, it cost very little wth trips to u pull it yards. The "hard" parts are putting the switch set in the dash and getting the dealership to turn the ecu on.


GM sells a kit, but it was 4x what it cost me to install it with used parts. Look at your car, you probably already have the evaporator, condenser, and expansion valve.

Ahh I'd have to take it in and get them to activate it to run the ac?

yes, i added AC to my aveo5 just 3 years ago and it cost me about $500 with brand new stuff including condenser, and dealership charge me $25 to activate the AC option
