      GOAT intake v2

A new verson of my GOAT air ram involving a K&N highflow air filter in the stock airbox with a bent pipe coming out of the bottom to a drilled out fog light housing

K&N highflow air filter $45 from Autozone
90 degree bent pipe $5 from Autozone
Spectre rubber coupler $8 from Autozone
Spectre reducer coupler $7 from Autozone

If you can find a coupler for less great, but I could only find the Spectre one in my town. I had to buy the coupler and reducer both because I needed the spacer in the regular coupler to connect to the bottom of the air box

The pipe bends and goes right to the fog light housing if clocked right.

      Here is my old GOAT

How on earth did you find a K&N air filter at autozone?!

I can't even find one at any store in AZ

I always see K&N filter areas in Autozone, (I'm in tucson,) but its like the angry magic pixies come at night and take off the ones that fit the Aveo at night...Its crazy!

That's what I mean, they have K&N's, just none for the Aveo, those commie bastards!

that would scare me, especially living in michigan with melting snow almost all of the time in the winter, then you got the rainy spring time.
and you live in michigan now.

you pretty much only get 4-5 months of good weather a year.
ahh typing that made me realize how much it sucks here.

g0ast... Just ask and Ye Shall Recieve...maybe not instant gratification, but a few days is no big deal.

I doubt the stock air filter in the aveo is restrictive. It's as big the one I had in my 90's 3.3L Olds. If that flowed enough for the 3.3, it sure flows more than enough for the 1.6. Anyway I'll soon be ordering a Magnehelic (vacuum) and a pressure gauge, I'll be measuring the intake vacuum and exhaust backpressure. Well soon find once and for all if the intake and exhaust are as restrictive as everyone says they are.

changing the intake will release more power from stock.

here is the resonator from the stock intake:

a CAI is straight through with a higher flowing filter.
