THANKS for the pics Rabbitt....Yeah that system looks like a factory set up, but 3400 euros is steep, I ve been leading towards the manifold-I really don't believe the claim, but these guys r pretty reputable overseas. As a side note, Trifecta is releasing an updated tune that says an increase of 20ft/lbs on the 1.8 @2500 RPM, better power from 4500-5500, and fixes some type of glitch in our ECU(SONIC OWNERS FORUM) and supposedly its free if u contact the vendor u bought it from. Does anyone know what flywheel would be used for an Aveo trans and a Sonic motor combo??? Im wondering if there is any clutch issues or problems with bolt patterns

Ive been reading on ASTRAOWNERSNETWORK.COM, They say the intake and tune is legit, one guy has hit 173 flywheel HP without internal work. I do have a question though, would deleting the butterfly(DCVVS?) system in the intake throw an OBD2 code. Emissions is the primary concern, perhaps a 1.8 would be a better first step

I can't say if the dcvvs would throw a code or not, I can't think of a sensor that says if it activated or not. Although that ould be a sensor i haven't looked for.

if you have a "tuner" like trifecta, i would assume they could turn off that option. I know VW tuners often eliminate the secondary o2 sensor for one reason or another, to save emissions testing.

Well this thread is going to ramble as I contemplate my next move, what are the specs of our cams?? would custom regrinds be worth it??? honestly I don't know much about our constantly variable cams and if regrinds would even be worth it, if I went this route, I would probably go for a strong pull in the mid range-I want usable hp/trq, not a dyno queen...any thoughts??

Meanwhile have u ecotec guys seen the ebay light weight pulleys from china?? I am tempted to free up drag, I am also looking for a flywheel to lighten in the near future...

Yes I seen post #2, and meant to refer to more of the quality of the parts, but I am taking your advice on trying to increase efficiency of the engine by eliminating the parasitic drag. I will be doing my timing belt as the weather breaks in spring, and have ordered a flywheel to have lightened, and am debating on the FX100 or FX200 from clutch masters. The clutch/flywheel should be done by thanksgiving, I ll update if I have any problems. Ive also been scouring salvage yards in England for VXR parts but I don't want to throw out crazy ideas n fall short, but I am looking-I would like to smoke the front tires every time I hammer the pedal...we' ll see....
