Car died
Hello.
here goes:
05 special value 160000
jist went ahead and replaced:
MAP sensor
throttle position sensor
IAC Valve
EGR valve
removed and cleaned throttle body
tried to replace O2 #1 but rounded off head. May have damaged it
car ran pretty well before sensor swap ( after cleaning throttle body)
car ran good after all sensor replacement (about 10 miles on all the equipment..)
uesterday it just does while running. It cranks fine but will not start.
Now gives me a P2610 engine ECM/PCM engine off timer performance?
any ideas as I really need this car??
thank u

“It DIED while running.”” Will crank but won’t start

Also timing belt has about 10k on it and all seems good with that

And more. Seems to point towards Crank Position Sensor.

Had another ECM programmed and installed..
car will start and then die a few minutes later leaving me stranded and then it won’t even start again
Getting that same P 2610 code going to try Crank and cam position sensors tomorrow

Just be aware that once the new sensors are installed, the car may not start until the crank sensor is programmed to the ECU via a Tech2 (GM diagnostic tool) or a different high end tool, Snap on, autell, etc.
sometimes they work without programming, sometimes they don’t.

Well first I have to say every new component I put in the car has made a bit of a difference.
what I did in the past 7 days:
R&R:
O2 sensor 1
EGR Valve
MAP sensor
Air Intake Sensor
Idle Air Control Valve
Throttle Position Sensor
Crankshaft Position Sensor
Used-Reprogrammed ECU.
Removed and cleaned the throttle body
Still would crap out and misfire.
Turns out Rock Auto sold me either the wrong or a defective TPS. Put the old one in and it ran fine but as I say even better than before of course after sinking $100’s in new part’s. Kind of a bitter sweet ending for sure..

Funny thing is, I never got a code for the TPS……
