      A/C and other random things

I just returned from the junk yard with the entire A/C system off of a Aveo. I was looing around for all of the connectors under the hood of the one that I have and I found the one for the compressor and the pressure switch, but I can not cind the one for the second cooling fan. Is it there and I am missing it? Do I need to add it? I thought this was just a simple bolton retro fit. Is it?

Also, This car was severly over heated due to the T stat housing breaking in two..It over heated so bad that the intake and the CTS melted. I pulled the head off and checked it and did not see any issues, I checked the timing before tearing it apart and it was spot on is there anything else that I may be missing? Everything else looks o.k.

I can not say anything on the A/C as I do not know.

If you overheat, you normally crack the block or some other nasty things, does the car run (what exactly melted, pics)? The timing belt would not be affected, but many other things could have been.

Nah, the car did not run. The lady I got it from said it overheated and quit running on the highway, she coasted to the side of the road. I bought it off her for $800.00. I dont see any cracks anywhere on the head between the valves, or anywhere else. everything looks a-ok. I just didnt know if there were other issues with these intakes melting. I went to the junk yard today and that one was melted too. The surface where the intake bplts to the head was melted and deformed. the o ring was melted and deformed too. I think I will just throw it back together with a new intake and CTS and fire it up.

Ah ,so you bought the car from someone how had it overheat on them. The head would not crack, it would be the lower block (of course other things can go wrong) but it is hard to say. I have never heard of the intakes melting though, at least on here. Overheating is thw worst thing that can happen though, no one knows what happened in that engine
