      Air Intake 2010 Aveo5 LT

I found an air intake on Ebay and I was wondering if it is a good idea to purchase it? I am looking for a little extra power from my Aveo and this seems like the most affordable option.

For that price i would go ahead and get it, a cold air intake would give a little more power but, at least it will sound awesome lol.

U should gain some usable hp, an aggressive engine sound while under throttle, and possibly betterMPG-depending on the drivers habits. With a short ram intake I got 37MPG, and my current set up is better for power , but lowers my mpg. Do what he said -get it, u wont regret it

After I saw this thread, I went ahead and ordered the kit. I have a tablet with Torque installed and a bluetooth OBD scanner. I'll try and run some tests both with stock and the new intake and post the results, if any.

The only way to know end results is to test both filters. Are those filters the ones that can be washed, rinsed with fresh water or are the disposable type. Buy, use and throw away and buy again ?

I used a K/N filter for a while. I end up going back to paper filters as the the cleaning kit is more expensive than the paper filter. Unless somebody has advice on how to clean K/N filter cheaply.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

cleaning kit should last you 5-8 times or bit more. I used to get out of a 14" round 6" high about 4-5 out of a kit. I would run out of oil first all the time. It should not drip oil
Oh that makes me think it's time for me to clean mine.

I will be swapping back in the original airbox + new paper air filter this weekend. The one in the kit is supposed to be cleanable using a K+N cleaning kit.

I am running a 2 week interval on my test cycles and have tried to avoid changing my driving habits. The data I am logging is coming straight from the ECU (minus GPS data from a bluetooth External GPS). I log sensor data every second and will be compiling results once everything is complete. I will also make the raw data (minus gps coordinates) available for download.
